Who we are
Aera is a calendar app published by the developer of Aera. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what stays on your device. It applies to Aera on Android, iPhone, and iPad.
What Aera stores on your device
Events, notes, places, colours, calendar names, themes, and day marks are saved on this device. They are not uploaded to Aera’s servers yet. If you delete the app, that local calendar is removed with it unless you have a backup of the phone.
Account
If you create an account or sign in, Aera uses Google Firebase Authentication. We keep your name, email address, and a sign-in identifier so you can use the same account on another phone or tablet. Passwords are handled by Firebase; Aera never stores your password. You can also sign in with Google. Google then shares your name and email with Firebase so Aera can open your account.
Password reset
If you ask to reset a password, Firebase sends a message to the email on the account with a link to choose a new one. That mail is sent by Google’s systems, not from your phone. If you sign in only with Google, there is no Aera password to reset.
Location
Location is optional. If you allow it, Aera uses it so the calendar can follow the time zone you are actually in when you travel. Aera does not keep a history of where you have been, and does not sell location.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on this device. They are not sent through Aera’s servers. You can turn them off in Settings or in the system settings for Aera.
What we do not do
Aera does not show ads. It does not sell your data. It does not use your calendar to profile you for advertising. If you connect Google or Apple calendars, Aera reads and writes events through this device’s calendar. Those events stay in your Google or Apple account as well as in Aera.
Children
Aera is not directed at children under 13. Do not create an account for a child under 13.
Keeping the account
You can sign out in Settings. Signing out does not delete the events already saved on this device. To remove the account itself, contact us through the email on the Aera store listing and we will help delete it from Firebase.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and the copy in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the new policy.
